Even I'm amazed at the reflection part of them writing up what they gained from the presentation because it extends their learning beyond just watching a presentation. Understandably some of them are overwhelmed by the technology but those that are blogging are definitely gaining a lot.

Thanks for clarifying the YouTube presentation because I plan to write a post on it myself -- it's on the list (the long one). Had already seen the wiki and am keeping a close eye on it.

@Sue - I'm glad that you are finding them interesting. I have been pleasantly surprised at their level of reflection. Some of them have been a bit overwhelmed and need more time to process how they feel about a particular technology, while others have jumped straight onto their blog. I heard one of the students say the other day, ‘this blog thing is so much better than keeping a journal’.

Simon covered the mechanics of YouTube as well as the educational value. He also spoke about YouTube being a wonderful way to share home-made videos with a more global audience. He had uploaded some of his own as examples. All of the students must share their ‘expertise’ with others through the class wiki – the timeframe is within two weeks of their actual presentation. Please keep an eye on the class wiki for their presentation. http://curtininnovationteam.wikispaces.com/

Hi Lina -- I've found it really interesting reading the posts your students are writing as a reflection as to what they've learned from listening to the presentations. Simon and Matthieu presentation on YouTube has me intrigued -- can you tell me did they only talk about YouTube, using it for teachers to access lessons and issues of downloading videos?

Matt and Kate both worked hard with their twitter presentation. In terms of connections there was greater insight as to who they are through their interaction in twitter than from just reading their blog. Plus they received increased assistance by using twitter.
